Two months ago, I received the keys to my new art studio in Apeldoorn. A place that feels like an oasis of calm, just five minutes from the city center. My studio is nestled among the tall, green trees, in the heart of what I call the Apeldoorn jungle.
The studio is located in the Holthuis, a creative hub where various makers, artists, and designers converge. It's an inspiring environment where art, nature, and creativity intersect.
A place to create in peace
Since moving to this studio, I've been able to create my first new works in peace, including Low Sun 01 and Low Sun 02, and several paintings from my Raw Earth Paper series. The natural surroundings and the tranquility of this place have visibly influenced my work – the colors are softer, the textures deeper, and the energy of the place is palpable in every painting.
First Open Studio in Apeldoorn
I recently held my first Open Studio. For one Saturday, I opened the doors of my studio to art lovers from Apeldoorn and beyond. It was special to display my paintings in the space where they were created and to talk with visitors about art, inspiration, and the creative process.
