Nature on Handmade Paper
Raw Earth Paper 251 (RA-P_251) is the first piece I created on handmade paper from the historic paper mill De Middelste Molen, near Apeldoorn. I was searching for new surfaces beyond canvas that could hold the raw energy of my work, something more organic, imperfect, and real. This paper, with its rugged edges and visible texture, immediately felt right.
The painting is inspired by the lush green tones of summer and the shifting rhythms of nature. Embedded in the piece is real sand I collected from a beach in Mallorca.
